Metsamarja — "forest berry" in Estonian — is a family holiday home nestled in the pine woods of Muhu Island. We opened our doors to guests who, like us, believe the best holiday is one spent quietly: walking the shore, picking berries, and falling asleep to the sound of wind in the trees.
Muhu is a quiet island with traditional villages, juniper pastures, and long stretches of undisturbed coastline.
There are no traffic jams, no crowds, no noise — just nature moving at its own pace. The island is perfect for cycling, hiking, and doing absolutely nothing at all.

Drive from Tallinn to Virtsu (~2 h), take the 27-minute ferry to Kuivastu, then about 15 min to us.
Buses from Tallinn to Kuressaare stop on Muhu after the ferry. From there you'll need onward transport. Taxis are limited, but you can call Muhu Takso at 508 7997 or ask us directly if we happen to be on the island ourselves.
The Virtsu–Kuivastu ferry runs all year and frequently throughout the day. In summer it's smart to book at praamid.ee.

The house is available year-round. Summer brings long evenings and warm sea, winter brings deep quiet and frost on the pines.
